I just started a search for my family history and armed with some very basic information has led me to you and your research. Let me start off by saying thank you for all your work and bringing a little and help in my quest. I guess I am at that point in life (51) where I can slow down a little and now look back for answers to questions I have had for years. I only had a little info on my father’s side starting with his mother. Let me introduce myself:

My Dad was James Clifford Dempsey born Atlanta, Georgia 1937 - died 1997 Owensboro, Ky. (Famous musician & entertainer “Little” Jimmy Dempsey)
His Mother was Grace Durham Dempsey was born in Atlanta Georgia1916 – died 1992
Her Father was Fabius "Faby" Durham born in1873 in Georgia - died 1938
His father was Weldon Durham was born in Jul 1840 in North Carolina
His father was Achilles Durham was born in 1795 in Rutherford County, North Carolina.

His father was Charles Alexander Durham was born on 1773 in Orange County, North Carolina. He died in 1850 in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

His father was Achilles "Kellis" Durham was born about 1750 in Virginia. He died before 1814 in Chesnee, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

I now know their wives and children’s names too thanks to your research So again thank you for starting my journey now I am on to find the Dempsey side of this equasion. If you have any advise let me know.
