The 1880 Census for Franklin County, Virginia (District 104), lists "David Durham" as "Wm David Durham", age 37, with wife, Jane, age 36.

Byron,I have proved John and Jane's sons thru mar. info. I find it curious that they named their sons jesse p.,william and david. and they ended up moving from penn co,va to gills creek fran co,va with all these other durhams.named after his brothers?

Maybe I didnt give you all info on jessee. 1854 marriage kanawha co,va(wva) jessee lists his parents as john and jane. 1850 census he's in kanawha co,va,1840 census household of john and jane durham n. penn co,va.thats. then death-franklin co,va-proved.

thanks for the info on caleb connection to david durham of gills creek,franklin co,va. david was born about 1800. john durham born about 1798 and married jane wilson 1820 in northern pitt co,va however jane,mother nancy wilson show up in gills creek,franklin co,va about 1840 without john and same in later census but he shows up with a woman named rowland and dauther 1860. i think david and john are brothers. john and jane children list pitt co,va as birth on marriage lic. there is little info on james except tax lists henry 1780,87,88 and fran co 1802,1804. he was also on list mr greer on blackwater river,franklin co,va.no other records in franklin that are known. i think caleb or james may be johns father.
