as "step-daughter"; and Thomas J., age 5, listed as "step-son".
In the 1900 Census for Oconee County, South Carolina (Tugaloo - District 74),
Francis M. Davis, age 52 and "widowed" is listed in the household of
Thomas J. Durham, age 24, and wife Susie A., age 26. Francis M. Davis is listed
as "mother".

I haven't been able to link yet. I do have a Thomas Jefferson Durham, whose mother
was Malissa Durham, he was born in 1873 in Oconee, SC. His mother lived with
a Cherokee Indian man, and was believed to have 3 children by him. His last name
was Dice. Does this fit yours?
