244. James Frank "Frank" or "Summer John" RICHEY was born on 28 Aug 1906 in Brushy Creek Township, Anderson County, SC. He was 40 when he died per his obituary in The Greenville News on Saturday 5 JUL 1947 on page 3. He died on 4 Jul 1947 in Greenville General Hospital (closed in 1983), Greenville, Greenville County, SC. He died Friday morning at 1:20 AM at the age of 40 years old.
He was buried on 6 Jul 1947 in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Powdersville, Anderson County, SC.⁴⁹ Funeral arrangements were made for a Sunday 2:00 PM service by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home per his obituary in the Easley Progress 10 JUL 1947 on page 10. Frank is buried at Siloam Cemetery in an unmarked grave beside Jack Leroy Crum. Frank's son, Douglas, is buried beside Frank in an unmarked grave next to William Harve Merritt.

548	i.	J. Douglas "Doug" RICHEY was born on 20 Feb 1932. Birth and death dates confirmed by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Greenville, SC. He died on 17 May 1947 in Highway 81, Greenville County, SC. Doug died in an auto (1944 Jeep) accident Saturday night at 10:20 PM per The Greenville News article on Sunday 18 MAY 1947 on page 6. He was buried on 19 May 1947 in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. Doug is buried beside his father in an unmarked grave. He is buried between William Harve Merritt and his father, Frank Richey, who is buried beside Jack Leroy Crum. Doug was 15 years old when he was killed in a Jeep accident on Hwy 81 just inside Greenville County near Carolina High School. Several other boys were badly injuried in the wreck. Funeral arrangements were made by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home for a Monday 3:30 PM service per his obituary in the Greenville News, on Sunday, 18 MAY 1947 on page 6 and again Monday, 19 MAY 1947 on page 5. Doug was actually Frank Richey's step son. Ruby was Doug's mother before she married Frank.
