The funeral was at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel on Thursday at 3:00 PM per his obituary in the Greenville News on Wednesday, 7 FEB 2001. He served in the military in the U.S. Army. He was a retired home builder and also a farmer. He was a member of Westview Independent Methodist Church, 1975 Old Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC. While serving in France in the U.S. Army, he received the Purple Heart.
