He died suddenly at his home on Friday at the age of 74 years old. He was buried on 28 Sep 2009 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Highway 8 near Pickens, Pickens County, SC. Funeral arrangements were made by Dillard Funeral Home for a Monday, 3:00 PM, service in the funeral home chapel per his obituary in the Greenville News on Sunday, 27 SEP 2009, on page 12-A. Robert served three years in the U.S. Army during peacetime between April 1955 and April 1958. Twenty-one months of his service was spent in Hawaii. He worked for Binswanger Glass Co. and retired after 31 years of service. Robert was deeply involved in the genealogy of his relatives and their families including the DURHAM lines. He will be greatly missed.
