The funeral for Winfred Thomas Durham, 87, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. today at Spry Funeral Home with Pat Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Durham died Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was retired from Meadow Gold Dairies and Limestone Water Authority. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Tavie Durham; first wife, Geneva Durham; son, Spencer Durham; and a brother, James Everett Durham.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Durham of Athens; son, Charles Durham and wife Doris of Athens; daughter, Mary Dunnavant and husband Billy Joe of Prospect, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Pettus Durham of Athens; stepdaughters, Deborah Daws and Susan Walker and husband J.D., all of Athens; stepson, Billy Daws of Athens; brother, Jerry Durham and wife Anna Jean of Athens; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Charles Christopher, Winston Jackson, Don Lauderdale, Mike Besh, Mike Dixon and Will Yarbrough.
