Obituary from a Taylor County newspaper:
Died January 3rd, 1900
Mr. Joe C. Durham, one of our known and highly respected citizens of this county,
died at his home near this place last Tuesday night of pneumonia. Deceased had
resided in this county for some time prior to his death and was engaged in buying
and selling stock. His conduct as a businessman and gentleman while in our midst
was such as to win for him many warm and personal friends and the respect of
the entire community. He leaves a wife and several children to whom we extend
our sympathy.

Mr. J. C. Durham, a stock dealer and well known to the many citizens of Adair
County, died at his home near Campbellsville one day last week. He was an excellent
gentleman and will be greatly missed from the busy walks of life.
