Robert William "Bob" DURHAM was born on 9 Jan 1870 in Kentucky.^{13,14,39,43,52,53} 1900 Census for Allen County, Kentucky states that Robert Durham was born in "1873" but death records state "1870". Information from Sharon Clark states Robert Durham's birth as "9 January 1869" in Kentucky. He died Chronic Nephritis on 22 Aug 1927 in Allen County, Kentucky.¹³ Buried in Hopewell Cemetery. Informant listed as "Dyer Durham"of Gainsville, Kentucky. It is not 100% proven that Robert William "Bob" Durham is a son of Obediah F. Durham and wife Nancy found in the 1870 Census for Allen County, Kentucky. I place him with this family until I can find more concrete proof. Some at Rootsweb have this "Robert Durham" listed as a son of Thomas G. Durham, but I feel it is more likely that the "Robert Durham" who married Harriet Williams and living near Thomas G. Durham in the 1900 Census for Sumner County, Tennessee, is more likely.


The Kentucky Death Certificate of "Bob Durham" of Allen County, Kentucky shows Bob married to "Mandy", who I believe is "Amanda Sheilds" and that his father's name is listed as "Dyar" Durham. The mother is listed as "Not Known". The informant listed is also "Dyar Durham". "Dyer" could be short for "Obediah". (More research is needed.)

Funeral records for Allen Co KY show Amanda Durham born 1877-10-11 died 1957-07-15. Her parents are shown as George Shields and Eliza Williams. Her children are given as Will, Dyer, Mrs Fannie Oliver, Mrs Exie Buchanan, Mrs Gaylon Pearson, and Mrs Hobert Pearson. The 1930 census shows Gaylen Pearson married to Rena, and Orville Pearson married to Mary.
