John Henry DURHAM was born on 22 Sep 1878 in Virginia.^{4,11,17,29,37,38,39} WWI Registration cards show the birth of John Henry Durham as "22 September 1878", but the cemetery stone at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia shows the birth of John H. Durham as "22 October 1877". Both items list the name of "Lyde Baylor Durham", his wife. I went with the WWI Registration Card since John himself is giving the information.

He died on 26 Oct 1942 in Washington County, Virginia. John H. Durham and wife Lyde Baylor Durham, are both buried at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon, (Washington County), Virginia.

John Henry DURHAM and Lyde BAYLOR were married on 28 Sep 1904 in Tazewell County, Virginia.^8,17 Lyde BAYLOR (daughter of R. B. BAYLOR and Elizabeth (UNKNOWN)) was born on 4 Jan 1887 in Virginia.^17,37,38,39 She died on 31 Aug 1977 in Washington County, Virginia. John H. Durham and wife Lyde Baylor Durham, are both buried at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon, (Washington County), Virginia. The Virginia Marriages, 1785-1940, lists J. H. Durham marrying Lyde Whitt on 28 Sept 1904 in Tazewell County, Virginia. Parents are listed as "R. B" (father) and "Elizabeth" (mother). The Surname "Whitt" may actually be the surname of Lyde and not "Baylor". More research is needed. John Henry DURHAM and Lyde BAYLOR had the following children:
