In the 1880 Census for Lauderdale County, Tennessee (District 2 - District 79), James W. Durham, age 49 and "widowed" is listed as Head of household, living with his "sister" - Elizabeth Helen, age 43 and also "widowed". Elizabeth was the wife of William M. Helen.

In the 1900 Census for Carroll County, Arkansas (Clifty - District 45), James W. Durham, age 69 (b. Mar 1831) and "widowed" is listed living by himself.

James W. DURHAM and Adeline A. LLOYD were married on 15 Sep 1871 in Tennessee.¹⁶ Adeline A. LLOYD died before 1880 in Tennessee.⁵²
