Mr. Fred Marion Chrismon, 78, of Greensboro, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at
his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Alamance
Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bob Gant
will officiate.
Mr. Chrismon was born in Guilford County on May 25, 1924, to the late Marion
Butler Chrismon and Daisy Gordon Chrismon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army,
serving in the Infantry during WW II. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was
employed with Pilot Life Insurance Co. for 25 years. He was a member of Alamance
Presbyterian Church. Mr. Chrismon was preceded in death by his parents and a
sister, Novella Summers.
Surviving Mr. Chrismon is his wife, Fannie Sue Durham Chrismon; daughters, Alice
Chrismon Ward and husband, Allen, of Greensboro, Terri Ann Dillon and husband,
Todd, of Walkertown; sister, Alene Harkey and husband, Ray, of High Point; brother,
Tommy Chrismon and wife, Lib, of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Shannon D. Gladwell
and husband, Vaughn, IV, of Greensboro, David M. Dail of Walkertown, Travis M.
Woody, Amber R. Ward, Ryan C. Ward of Greensboro, Ashley and Brad Dillon of Walkertown;
one great-grandchild, Vaughn Gladwell, V, of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at
Forbis & Dick Funeral Home in Pleasant Garden.
