15), James Rippy, age 90, is listed in the household of James H. and Delilah
Durham.
In the 1910 Census for Sumner County, Tennessee (Civil District 14 - District
144), James Durham, age 70 and "widowed", is listed in the household
of Joe J. Durham and wife Ida P.

Hello Byron, My name is Frank Durham. Recently my dad passed away and when my
mom and I began to sort thru his things we came up with a family tree, hand written
and drawn and a 4 page type written letter with the Durham, War of The Roses,
Scottish reference story that we see circulating on the net. This letter is dated
Oct 30th, 1939 and written by J. Breck Durham, Gallatin Tennessee. Breck being
my Grandfathers uncle.
I am from the James H Durham side (my GG Grandfather), his son Wm Bates also
referred to as Bates (my G Grandfather), his son Robert L Durham Sr (my grandfather),
and finally my dad Robert L Durham Jr. I have photos of Bates and a few of his
children.
His children were William, Robert, Samuel, Edna, and J Calvin.Bates was married
3 times. My grandfathers mother was Armiza Brown and I think she was wife #2
with Martha Durham becoming wife #3. Son William diagramed and filled in the
names on this tree and was the nephew of Breckenridge (Breck). He was elderly
and his writing looks a bit shaky at the time of his scribe. I have known of
this history since I was a child and have heard the Duncan Durham N carolina/Tennessee
story for just as long ( I am 56 years old). I guess I thought my dad would live
forever and I could ask him about this at any time, sadly I was wrong. I would
like to hear your connection and history. Are you from William G Durham side?
