17. Thomas DURHAM III¹ died about 1821 in Mercer County, Kentucky. NOTE: Thomas Durham and wife, Dorothy Smoot have a son named Thomas Durham, which is estimated as born 1690. Some have this Thomas as dying in Mercer County, KY in 1821, which would put his age at 131 years old. The Thomas Durham who married Mary Smoot around 1710 is listed with a WILL in the "Wills of Richmond County, Virginia, 1699-1800". Thomas Durham's will was probated 5 May 1735 in Richmond County, Virginia.

Ok, we don't seem to know what happen to Thomas' son James for now so let's look at Thomas' other children. Census records indicate he had five children living in 1783. I can only identify four of them.

1. DMD (David Milton Durham) - born 1768
2. James - born 1770 and married Catherine Fitzgerald and owned land on both sides of the Tye river in Amherst/Nelson Co Va.
3. Mary - born c1772 or c1776 and married Joseph Henderson aka Joseph Martin and died in Nelson Co Va.
4. Isaac - born 1774 and married Judith Oglesby and moved to Christian Co. Ky and to Hamilton Co. IL.

Mary (UNKNOWN) died about 1820.⁴ Thomas DURHAM III and Mary (UNKNOWN) had the following children:
