MISS BERTA MAE EADES LIBERTY -- Miss Berta Mae Eades, 66, of Route 1, Black Bottom Road, died Saturday at St. Frances Community Hospital. Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Lula Mae Wilkinson Eades. She was a retired Librarian at Pickens Elementary School and a graduate of Central Wesleyan College and Western Carolina University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and Golden Grove Wesleyan Church. Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Willie Grace Lesley and Mrs. Rebecca Davis of Liberty, Mrs. Ollie Bell E. Kelley of Tamassee, Mrs, Jeanette Adcock of Toledo, Ohio; brothers, the Rev. James H. Eades of Dixon, Tenn., Tom Eades of Temperance, Mich., Edward Eades of Spokane, Wash., J. Robert and Paul M. Eades of Liberty. Services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Grove Wesleyan Church by the Revs. Paul Wilcox, W. D. James and Redmond Brooks. Burial was in Liberty Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Robbie Eades, Miles Eades, Charles Adcock, Eddie Kelley, Keith Kelley, and Mark Eades. Arrangements by B. F. Eades Funeral Home.
