26. Susan "Susie" DURHAM was born on 20 May 1851 in Pickens District, SC. She was born in the Six Mile area and was 8 years old when the 1860 census was taken.
She died on 4 Jan 1944 in Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. She was buried in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. She lived near the South West corner of Hwy 81 & Circle Road in Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. Susie Durham & Frank Rogers' ancesters probably came from Durham, England. Susie and Frank had six (6) girls. One daughter died at birth. Susie's death is recorded in the 4 Jan 1944 copy of the Greenville News. It mentions William and Liza Roe Durham as her parents.

Frank and Susie Durham Rogers divided the land that once belonged to their grandfather,William Berry Durham, Jr., among their 5 living daughters in September 1918. Frank's mother was Nancy E. Durham Rodgers and acquired 100 acres of her father's land. Hester (Richey) got the home place at Highway 81 & Circle Road where Susie and Frank Rodgers continued to live. Hester's children still owns that property in 1977. The other daughters drew for the remaining divided land. Kate Belle's young son, Lewis Bridges, stood on the back of a wagon and drew their names from a hat. Kate Belle (Bridges) received 14 acres from the old Bethesda Church to Circle Road along Highway 81 according to deed book 6-R page 81. The Powdersville Water Company is now located on that property. Etta (Roe) received about 16 acres behind Kate's land and corners in the middle of the old spring per deed book 6-R page 80. Etta's daughter, Dora Sue Roe and her husband L.N. "Bill" Evans, ownes that property in 1977. Lula (Hinton) got the land behind Etta's property. Dora (Hicks) received the property on the left side of Circle Road past the old homeplace. Ab Roe (Etta's son) later purchased that property. He died and his wife, Nell, owns that property in 1977. The deedes were from N.E. & J.F. Rogers ( no "d" ) to J.F. "Frank" and Susie Rodgers' children. The deeds read "WHEREAS William Durham, late of the county of Anderson, State of South Carolina, by his deed conveyed certain lands in said county, and State to his daughter, N. E. Rogers and her bodily heirs and WHEREAS, said deed has been lost and the record on file in Anderson Court House been destroyed; and WHEREAS, J F Rogers is the sole bodily heir of said N E Rogers, and WHEREAS, the said N. E. Rogers and J F Rogers have been in continuous possession of said land for the past sixty odd years, NOW, ...".

Susan "Susie" DURHAM and Jerry Franklin "Frank" RODGERS were married on 9 Mar 1876. Jerry Franklin "Frank" RODGERS (son of Robert RODGERS and Nancy Ellen DURHAM) was born on 29 May 1841 in South Carolina.6,14,15,28 He died on 28 Oct 1936 in Powdersville Community, Anderson County, SC. Susan "Susie" DURHAM and Jerry Franklin "Frank" RODGERS had the following children:
