WESTMINSTER, SC
Ruth Harrison Gilliam Stone, 81, of 255 Weldon Road died Sunday, March 24, 2002.
Born in Anderson County, she was retired from Jantzen and was a member of the
Fair Play Church of God, where she sang in the church choir and was a member
of the ladies Sunday school class. She was also involved in the outreach ministry
to Mariner Health Care.
Surviving are widower, T.C. Stone of Seneca; sons, Billy Gilliam of Richland
and the Rev. Mac Gilliam of Simpsonville; daughters, Betty Cates of Westminster,
Linda Mote and Patricia Harris, both of Westminster, Glenna McAlister of Fair
Play, Debbie Head, Cheryl Harris and Sandra Stasney, all of Westminster and Julie
Collier of Seneca; brother, Howard Harrison of Iva; sister, Bonnie Hart of Anderson;
32 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Dank and Emmie Durham Harrison. She was preceded
in death by her first husband, Connie Gilliam; a daughter, Dolly Gilliam Pinkston;
and five brothers, Alvin Lee, Dank Junior, William Henry, Winston and Bruce Albert
Harrison.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fants Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Roger
Stephens, Billy F. Gilliard and Mac Gilliam; burial will follow in the church
cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The body
is at the Sandifer Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6
to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Flowers are accepted, and the family is at the residence of daughter, Patricia
Harris, 255 Weldon Road, Westminster.
