39. Mary Etta "Etta" RODGERS was born on 5 Dec 1876 in Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. The 1880 Census for Brushy Creek, Anderson County, SC has her name spelled Marietta Rogers at age 4. She died on 13 May 1971 in Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. She was buried in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. She was buried on Friday at 5:00 PM. Funeral arrangements were by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Mary Etta Rodgers Roe inheriated about 16 acres of land out of the 100+ acres that her great-grandfather, William Berry "Buck, Sr." Durham, once owned. Buck's daughter, Nancy, and her son, Frank (Etta's father), deeded the land known as tract No. 3 to "Mary Etta Rowe" in September 1918 according to Anderson County Deed Book 6-R page 80. "N E Rogers" made her (X) mark and "J F Rogers" signed his name.

Etta Roe's daughter, Dora Sue Roe Evans and her husband , L N "Bill" Evans owned the property in 1997. It had the old mulberry tree which was close to where William Johnson "Buck" was struck by lightning (He was Etta's mother's father).

He was buried in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, Powdersville, Anderson County, SC. Barney and Bruce were twins. Barney had no children. His SS# was 248-05-1130.
