Rites Thursday for J.W. Durham
James W. Durham, age 69, passed away Sunday, 10:30 p.m., at his residence,
920 East avenue. His wife, Mary Durham, preceded him in death one month ago.
He leaves one son, Fred Durham, of London, Kentucky; five daughters, Mrs. Grace
Hume, Mrs. Cash Adkins, Mrs. Charles Hurley and Mrs. Arthur Schroeder, all of
Hamilton, and Mrs. Ellen Clemmons, of Sand Gap, Kentucky; three brothers, Nathan
and Greene Durham, of Richmond, Kentucky and William Durham of Wilmington, Ohio.
He was a member of the First Baptist church and was possessed of a sterling character.
His kindness to all won him a host of friends. Funeral services will be held
from the residence, Thursday, 2:00 p.m., with Rev. John S. Brinkman officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon
and evening.

Mrs. Mary Durham, wife of James W. Durham, passed away at the residence, 920
East avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock at the age of 62 years. Mrs.
Durham was a member of the First Baptist church and found in her church work
an expression for her natural disposition to help others, ranking a wide circle
of friends who mourn their loss.
Besides the widower, Mrs. Durham is survived by one son, Fred Durham of London,
Kentucky; five daughters, Mrs. Nettie Hurley, Mrs. Addie Atkins, Mrs. Grace Hume
and Mrs. Alberta Schroeder, all of Hamilton, and Mrs. Ellen Clemmons, of Sand
Gap, Kentucky; four brothers, Harvey K. Baker of Hamilton, Edward, Sheard and
John Q. Baker of Kentucky and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy VanWinkle, of Hamilton,
and Mrs. Betty Baker of Kentucky.
Funeral services for Mrs. Durham will be held at the family residence, East avenue,
Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. John S. Brinkman of the First Baptist
church officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery and friends may call
after 2 o'clock Thursday.
