She retired from DuPont with many years of service. There are many precious memories and things that could be said, but these next few words sums it all up...she was a great lady with a heart of gold...a lady that if she ever came into your life or just brushed through it, you were truly blessed. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She was born on August 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Herrick and Mae Fannie Arrington Durham and also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ford (Rada) Durham, Guy (Fannie) Durham and Gordon (Thelma) Durham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Daisy Toler, Mary (B.G.) Gardner, Raymond Foley and Zeb Smith. Surviving are her sisters and brothersin-law, Beatrice and William (Billy) Barbour, of Glade Hill, Nannie Smith, of Winter Park, Fla., Elaine and Charles Knapp, of Salem, Shirley Foley, of Oak Level, and Ray Toler, of Martinsville; one aunt, Eula Turner, of Glade Hill; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and greatgreat-nephews. She is also survived by many other family members and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011, with the Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Durham Family Cemetery in Glade Hill.
