The Durham family have been connected with the Mt. Olive Christian Church since its inception (see "Churches of Casey Co, Kentucky") A J.B. Durham is recorded as the first teacher in Mt. Olive School established in 1830 (Casey Co, Kentucky Records: 1807-1977). Melton is listed at the Sunday school superintendent of Mt. Olive Christian Church in 1900 (see "Churches of Casey Co").

Milton "Harrison" or "Hooker" DURHAM and Permelia Cordelia "Amelia" SLOAN were married on 5 Apr 1865 in Casey County, Kentucky.^38,43 Permelia Cordelia "Amelia" SLOAN⁴³ (daughter of Rev. James Kincaid SLOAN SR. and Nancy Ann KING) was born on 11 May 1845 in Casey County, Kentucky.^{10,12,36,41,43,44} She died Bronchial Pneumonia on 24 Jun 1921 in Casey County, Kentucky.^12,43 Buried in Durham Cemetery. Pemelia's grave gives both the name of her husband and father. It reads, "Farewell Mother, Pemelia Cordelia, Daughter of Rev. Jas. Sloan, Wife of Milton H. Durham, born. May 11, 1845, Dec. June 24, 1921."

The only thing is that this William H. Durham lists his birth place as "Indiana". I believe this may be a mistake. More evidence is needed.
