22. Grisham DURHAM
was born about 1790 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.16,17 He died
in 1856 in Arkansas.18

Grisham Durham and family moved to DeKalb and then to Carroll County, GA.
In 1842, he went to Lawrence Co, ARK, with most of his children. Mary
Durham (1819-1854), a daughter of Grisham, married William Washington
Merrell and stayed in Carroll Co, GA. Their daughter, Sarah Rebecca
Merrell married J.C.C. Carlton of Palmetto, GA, from the line of Blake
Carlton of Greenville Co, SC, and they were the great-grandparents of
Robert Davidson who supplied much of the information on the early
CARLTON/CALTON lines and all of the information on the DURHAM line.
